Brief summary: This is one of the most original SB/RL fics I've ever read. The concept is fantastic. Sirius takes Remus home to meet his parents. It really attacks the dynamic between Sirius and his family and manages through Remus's POV to say something intelligent about it. Wonderful fic.
Sometimes he tests Remus. At least that's what Remus thinks when Sirius tells him how Uncle Tiberius feels about half-breeds, and then expects Remus to come back with any kind of real answer. He looks at Remus like he expects Remus to look at him in disgust, like it's Sirius who's got it backwards. As though Remus doesn't understand the distinction he is desperately trying to make, the distance between generations and brothers. Sirius needs him to see the things that made him different, the air and light that filtered through him and the odd cousin, but that the rest of the family could not feel.
