My due South F/K table
Claim: due South, Fraser/Kowalski
Title: Half a Chance
Author: brooklinegirl, on LJ
brooklinegirl
Characters: Fraser, Kowalski, most of the rest of the gang
Prompt: 13. Established Relationship
Rating: NC-17
Length: medium
Brief summary: This is my favorite due South fic, hands down. I can’t even really put my finger on why this does it for me, but it really does. I love that it’s not a first time fic, because a large number of due South fics are, even though I love all of those. Ray is back in Chicago and Fraser is in Canada after COTW, and they are making do with short visits every month or two, and it is absolutely killing them. I appreciate the reality of this story, and how Fraser finally takes control of the situation, in his way. Oh, and the sex isn’t half bad either. *g*
Just - jesus, if that was it, if that was all that Ray was, then what was there for Fraser to even love? That didn't work.
So. Okay. 2600 miles, give or take, from Chicago to Yellowknife. Which wasn’t the worst thing in the world. Fraser could always live further away. Like, um, Alaska. That was in the same country as Ray, even, and that was a lot further away. 2600 miles was doable.

Characters: Fraser, Kowalski, Stella, OMC
Prompt: 32. Secrets
Rating: NC-17
Length: medium
Brief summary: Another Fraser in Canada and Ray in Chicago doing the long distance thing fic. Except Ray cheats with a guy at a bar, and tries to come clean with a number of people, including Stella and a priest, before deciding what to tell Fraser. I won’t tell you what he decides, because it ruins the end, but I think that it is so painfully realistic for anyone who’s ever dealt with infidelity or thought about what they would do if their partner cheated, and this story doesn’t take the easy way out. And the sex…absolutely hot and heartbreaking.
I wish it never happened, Fraser.
I fucked up so bad.
You know by now, right? You know what I did.
When I close my eyes I can see the look on your face. How you're sitting there not moving a muscle, because I stabbed you in the back and you hurt.
It wasn't on purpose, okay? I mean, it was in a way. I did it. I did it. He didn't put a gun to my head. But I didn't go out looking for it. I didn't put on cologne and get dressed up and decide to go out and fuck around on you.
I had a lousy day at work because I missed you. I went to a bar and watched guys dance with their boyfriends because I missed you. I got drunk because I missed you.
You believe me so far, I bet. Can you believe the next part, though? There was a guy, and I talked to him because I missed you. Went home with him because I missed you. Sucked him off because I missed you. Slept in his bed. Held him. Because I missed you.
It happened because I love you. So much, so fucking much.
