Characters: Jack Sparrow
Prompt: 07. Love
Rating: PG
Length: 649 words
Brief summary: This was written in 2003; and yet when I re-read it to rec it, I found myself thinking of the line from Dead Man's Chest: "My first and only love is the sea." Because it's true, here, and because it's beautiful. The ocean isn't human and doesn't love like a human, but she does love in poetry (literally, in iambic pentameter) and this is poetry.

Claim: Pirates of the Caribbean (general)
Title: Skin & Bones
Author: [livejournal.com profile] elspethdixon
Characters: Jack Sparrow, Anamaria
Prompt: 08. Friendship
Rating: PG-13.
Length: 4, 475 words
Brief summary: Anamaria's as tough as they come, and here, she manages to bully Jack Sparrow. She manages to get Jack to do what she wants him to do -- eventually -- and she manages to tell him some things she's not told anyone, and she manages to get him to take care of himself, and she manages to like him through it all. Except for the part where she wants to smack him, but really, this is Jack we're talking about. This is a subtly written and creepy piece, well worth the read.

Title: "Four Stories Jack Harkness Doesn't Tell in Bed (and One He Does)"
Author: [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]
Characters: Jack, Ianto
Prompt: 05. Sex.
Rating: R
Length: medium
Brief summary: I love Jack as a character because you can tell almost any story about his past, and who knows? It might turn out to be right. And in this fic not only do you get some great stories about Jack's previous exploits (which are necessarily wild and funny), but you also get some neat emotional resonance within his relationship with Ianto. So I especially love and recommend this fic.
