My prompt table/list.
Claim: Nsync: Lance Bass
Title: Runaways
Author: Merry, at any road and
merryish
Characters: Lance, Chris, the rest of Nsync by telephone
Prompt: 38 Betrayal
Rating: -
Length: medium/long
Brief summary: Lance and Chris runs away to Paris, but the Js still manage to find them. Who is the traitor? The interaction between Lance and Chris feels very real, and the phone conversations with the other guys are simply hilarious. This is a very warm and very funny story.
"Look." Chris was getting desperate. The air in the cabin was harder to pull into his lungs than it was supposed to be. And it smelled funny. It smelled like places that were really really very high up. "Look. I know I said I could handle it, I know I said you should just ignore me, but I was wrong. I can't handle it. Seriously, man, I can't handle it. Let me out."
Lance smiled gently and stroked Chris' hand. "You said you'd say that, too."
"Oh, god. You're not letting me out."
"Nope."
"You're like some scary pre-programmed death robot! You're gonna make me stay on this plane and the engines will die and we'll crash and we'll be just like John Denver. And we'll be dead!"
"You may be like John Denver. I'm gonna be like Lance Bass, cool dead guy. I bet Justin writes a song about us."
"Why didn't I do this with JC? JC would let me off this plane. JC loves me."
"If JC let you off this plane right now it wouldn't be an act of love."
"It would so be - what, wait. Why?"
"We took off like five minutes ago, you freak."

Claim: Nsync: Lance Bass
Title: Arizona
Author: k8, at mainly in the plain... and
paintedmaypole
Characters: Lance and Chris
Prompt: 45 Trapped
Rating: explicit sex
Length: medium
Brief summary: The recurring theme to this story, that takes place after Lance's illness in 1999, is how much things have changed during the last year and how trapped they all are beginning to feel. Chris and Lance have an added stress factor, but this vacation in Arizona may perhaps offer a way to change things between them to the better. Like the other k8 story I've recced, The Haircuts, this story has a wonderful sense of place and atmosphere.
"Lance, have you enjoyed any of this?"
Lance hesitates.
"Anything since we've been in America?"
"No." Lance squints out over Chris' shoulder, he might be watching something, he might be staring at nothing. "I'm tired of having to think about everything. I'm tired of being dressed up and given instructions and pointed towards a room and then pushed into the space." Lance looks back at his feet. One of his shoelaces is loose. He wipes a line of dust off the side of the car and onto his pants.
"I think we're all tired." Chris stares at the brown stripe on Lance's jeans. It is running along Lance's thigh. He wants to lean down and touch it, Lance used to like being touched there.
