Claim: Nsync: Lance Bass
Title: Shit List
Author: Mercutio, at Mercutio's Stories and [livejournal.com profile] bard_mercutio
Characters: Lance, the rest of Nsync, a hotel concierge, AJ McLean
Prompt: 06 Anger
Rating: -
Length: Short
Brief summary: This is a hilarous little story about Lance's way of anger management. It's a classic Mercutio humour story with wonderful dialogue and spot-on characterizations.

The first clue the guys had about Lance's obsession was the folded-up sheet of paper that had 'accidentally' been torn off the front of one of Lance's multi-page, indexed, glossy, full-color reports, then found its way into Justin's pocket.

Well, maybe not the first clue, because otherwise Justin wouldn't have needed to make the accident happen, but certainly the first real hard evidence regarding why Lance was suddenly going around with a smile on his lips and a spring in his step even when there were no cameras trained on him, and he had not, to anyone's knowledge, gotten laid recently.

Claim: Nsync: Lance Bass
Title: Reality Bites
Author: Kate & Mercutio, at Index of Series and Sequels & Mercutio's Stories and [livejournal.com profile] sirkate & [livejournal.com profile] bard_mercutio
Characters: Lance, Kevin Richardson, the rest of Nsync
Prompt: 44 Mask
Rating: -
Length: long
Brief summary: This story that takes place a few years into the future. Lance is now a reality show producer and wants Kevin in his next production. They hook up in a casual way. Kevin wants something more but Lance is adamant that he has nothing more to offer. Kevin thinks he's wrong. A wonderful Kate & Mercutio story filled with good dialogue and sharp characterisations, memories and misunderstandings, and an ending that makes you feel hopeful for the protagonists future.

"I had your calls returned," Lance counters. He might not have answered them himself, but he's not rude, not to people he needs. "And you wouldn't have. You would've gotten bored with my life quickly. You're into causes and substance. My life is about style and entertainment. It would've been a bad idea."

Kevin shakes his head. "Well. Thanks for making that choice for me, I guess. I mean, we've hung out for probably a total of less than 72 hours in our entire lives, so of course, you know exactly what I'm like. Never mind, sure. Are your 'fans' going to have stupid tasks? Like getting into my pants and taking pictures of my underwear?"

"No. I don't know what you're like. But I know what I'm like," Lance says, more heatedly than he wants to. Words flash out, bitter and deeply felt. "I don't want to mean anything, and if I had a relationship with you, it'd end up meaning something."

He comes to a halt then, adrenaline shaking his body. He covers his lapse by running his hand through his hair, using the time when his face is blocked from Kevin's view to regain his composure. Or at least his mask.
