My rec table.
Claim: Stargate: Atlantis - John Sheppard
Title: Trojan Horse
Author: Salieri, aka
troyswann
Characters: John Sheppard, Rodney McKay.
Prompt: 31. Discovery.
Rating: PG.
Length: short (860 words)
Brief summary: Is John Sheppard a math prodigy? That's something that may or may not have support in the canon, and fic authors and readers within the fandom all have their own opinions; but this story isn't about that. Even discounting the possiblity of hidden math talent, John has shown us again and again that he's smarter than your first impression might have led you to believeand this story is about the moment when Rodney finds that out.

Shrugging, Sheppard walked back to the other side of the lab. "It's all Greek to me."
"Ancient is a precursor of Latin, not Greek," McKay explained testily. "So why Greek?"
"What does it mean?"
"Precisely."
Sheppard came back and leaned over McKay's shoulder again, his mouth close to McKay's ear. "I mean, what does it mean?"
McKay brushed at his ear like he was batting at a mosquito. "I don't know what it means."
"You don't know?"
Putting down the tablet, McKay turned in his chair. "I don't do languages. I do math. If this was math I'd do it, but it's not math so that's somebody else's job. I have enough jobs around here, in case you hadn't noticed."
"What with having the biggest brain and all."
